Crystal Reports Advanced Class

Crystal Reports II teaches you how to move beyond the basics of building and modifying reports taught in Crystal Reports I.  This class is required for understanding how to use Crystal Report Writer to create complex reports and data sources using Crystal Reports’ tools.  In this course, you’ll not only learn how to create more sophisticated reports like subreports and cross-tabs, you’ll also learn how to increase the speed and efficiency of your reports by using SQL queries and dictionaries.  Our goal is to train you to be proficient with creating and modifying Dynamics SL reports using Crystal Reports, and to allow you the ability to provide maximum benefit and value to your organization.

By actively participating in this class, you should learn to:

• Create running totals in a report.
• Build cross-tabs in your report.
• Add Subreports to a report.
• Design a report that uses a drill-down.
• Understand Report Information Parameters (RIPARAMs).
• Improve processing speed in your reports.
• Chart single and multiple data series.
• Report from Excel data.

This class is required for understanding how Crystal Report Writer Version 10 is integrated into the Microsoft Business Solutions - Solomon system. This course is an advanced level presentation of features, techniques and knowledge needed by anyone who will be doing anything more than the simplest of report modifications and creation in the Solomon environment. Using Solomon sample data, you will modify and create reports using SQL views and formulas, and add these reports to the Solomon menu. Our goal is to train you to be proficient with creating and modifying Solomon reports using Crystal Reports, and to allow you the ability to provide maximum benefit and value to your organization.

By actively participating in this class, you should learn to:

• Understand the roles of the various components involved in Solomon reporting.
• Be able to determine the reports that have pre-processes, post-processes, and determine what these processes are doing.
• Be able to add a new report format to an existing report.
• Be able to add a completely new report to the Solomon system.
• Understand Report Information Parameters (RIPARAMs).
• Read and modify Solomon views, as well as create your own views for reporting.
• Read and modify Solomon formulas, as well as create your own formulas for reporting.
• Modify a report to make the report multi-company enabled.
• Modify reports so they support the optional printing of Notes
