Timeline Analyst Class

Return to Class List
Available for Dynamics SL (Solomon) users and held in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, or on-site. If interested, contact Rob Lloyd at rob@synergybusiness.com or 503.601.4079.

This two-day course provides students with the knowledge and skills required to create new Timeline Analyst report templates and to modify existing report templates to enhance needed financial reporting, business intelligence and analytics.

This is a hands-on course that is short on lecture and long on student participation, interspersed with practical tips from the instructor, an experienced data warehouse designer and report author.  The course features nine chapters of detailed hands-on exercises from a 430-page training manual.  Most students eventually use this manual as a how-to reference manual.  This course will strengthen users’ Excel skills and teach them how to create board presentation quality financial reports using Timeline’s wizard-driven authoring tools.

By actively participating, you should learn:

  • Key Timeline terms and concepts
  • Basic Timeline financial data warehouse (FDW) table architecture and structure
  • Differences between Timeline and several other commonly-used reporting tools
  • How to modify existing report templates for reporting against other data dimensions
